Following the Munich Disco Era, which influenced a whole party generation, the Isar city's creative surge has never stopped and is experiencing a new wave of interest. Celebrated in the international press Munich's quality productions (Gigolo, Compost, Gomma, Erkrankung durch Musique, Disko B) have now conquered the dance-floors of their homeland. Isargold combines previously unreleased material, cult classics and hitherto undiscovered gems – a special mix which presents a survey of Munich's dynamic label and production scene.

In addition to this musical overview the booklet includes a select list of bars and clubs, in which the specific Munich sound is featured. This package was compiled by Benjamin Fröhlich, himself an integral part of the Bavarian capital's flourishing music scene. In his beginnings he organised illegal parties, which enjoyed great popularity and where he also stood behind the turntables. In the meantime Benjamin Fröhlich has established himself as a DJ and party organiser. Last but not least, he runs the record shop play-records, an indispensable contact point and meeting place for the many artists and producers presented on Isargold.
